From a botanical point of view, the Brazil nut is a "collectible nut", i.e. there are many individual Brazil nuts in a large, hard outer shell. We also use this outer shell as a container for our dish soaps.
Carlos uses it to make the buttons offered here. Their characteristic grain gives the buttons an exciting "design".
